FESTOOL goes mobile

FESTOOL uses SAP for rough production planning. Due to the complexity, the detailed production planning is to take place in an integrated MES system in the future. An upstream maximum mobile integration of the SAP modules WM, PP, QM and PM (EAM) involved is necessary for the optimal process flow. The Mobisys Solution Builder (MSB) is used at FESTOOL across areas in production logistics, production, quality management, maintenance and warehouse logistics and shipping logistics.

The mobile solution impresses the user with its pleasant, well thought-out design, as well as intelligent guidance through the application and smooth technical performance.

Mobile processes in production logistics

As a manufacturer of electric power tools FESTOOL is a specialist in the fields of wood construction, carpentry, painting and renovation work as well as paint preparation and finish. The company attaches great importance to quality, performance and a user-friendly operation of its products. They also have this aspiration on the software that maps internal production and logistics processes. After FESTOOL switched from a manual KANBAN principle to SAP WM, the processes not only had to be mobilized, but also designed to be userfriendly and networked across areas.

Complexity: The necessary, complex posting processes in the WM overwhelm the users in the operational areas
Efficiency: The correct sequence of the necessary posting processes in production logistics is unclear. High error rate due to forgotten postings steps
High stock differences due to the manually operated supply of the production, storage of materials, as well as the commissioning
Inhomogeneous systemic process landscape: No cross-departmental system, interrelationships in production planning are not recognized
