Nuremberg maintains its green spaces in SAP via app
The city is beautifully green. For the maintenance of its green spaces, trees and playgrounds, the city takes an innovative approach and uses an app. The MSB FIVE software from mobisys is used.
Maintenance of the green spaces, maintenance work and the creation of new objects are now effectively networked. The traceability and traffic safety obligation through immediate transfer of activities to the productive system is improved – and last but not least – the cityscape is significantly beautified. Self-explanatory applications with highest performance and attractive design in the colors of the SÖR make the end users happy during their daily city tours.

The city of Nuremberg is the second largest city in Bavaria with a population of approx. 520,000 and about 11,200 employees in the core city. The Servicebetrieb Öffentlicher Raum (Public Space Service) is a municipal company responsible for public space. It is divided into 3 departments: Civil Engineering Office, Horticulture Office and Street Cleaning.

Innovative maintenance in the public sector
Innovative, efficient and mobile – the city of Nuremberg wants to control and maintain its green spaces, trees and playgrounds with mobile devices. With MSB FIVE, a suitable tool was found:
- Replacement of the existing operations management system including the existing mobile applications
- Introduction of a mobile application for SAP
- Programming of an interface between SAP and the city-wide standardized geodata service from ESRI
- Specific end user requirements
This was implemented:
Maintenance of green spaces, trees and playgrounds via app: With MSB FIVE, mobile data entry and order processing is done directly in SAP.
- Locating trees and green spaces by integrating the geodata service from ESRI
- Integration of green spaces into the overall structure of SÖR – Servicebetrieb öffentlicher Raum (public space service company)
- “Tree planting” in real time in SAP and time recording of the operations
- Connection of PM, CS and MM
